VC-17 Submersion Window

Unless I'm really missing something, I couldn't find the information in Interlux's web site or the VC-17 data sheets available there.  I wanted to know how long you can wait to launch a boat that has been coated with VC-17.  As usual, Interlux's technical support was prompt and knowledgeable in their response.

A boat should be launched within 60 days after applying VC-17 or it could oxidize and require re-coating.

In addition, Interlux confirmed that (as printed on the Interprotect 2000e data sheet) you should NOT hot-coat VC-17.  The Interprotect needs to dry for 24-36 hours, then be scuff-sanded with 180-220 grit paper, then cleaned.  This is contrary to many sources of information I have seen on-line.  VC is not an ablative paint, and should not be treated as one.
