It's Alive!

It's been a long, long time since I posted any status.  Despite rumors of my own laziness there's actually a good reason for the delay.  Ravat has been in the paint booths for about a month now having the topsides AwlGripped and new gelcoat put over the deck repairs.  The yard called me today to let me know she's done and ready for me to get back to work so I hope to take some pictures this weekend and update that section of the Projects pages.

I've also been working on a new set of 3/8" acrylic portlights.  They are now fully machined and drilled for mounting.  I need to do a bunch of scraping and wet sanding before I can mount them in order to remove the old silicone sealant traces but that should only be a half day of work or so.  Getting the windows sealed up will make a big difference in the water ingress issues I've been battling.

I should be able to get the jib tracks rebedded in short order as well, which will seal up another big set holes in the deck and get one thing out of the garage.

Finally, I need to scrape out the starbaord side deck-hull joint to remove the remaining butyl and prep it for the 3m 4200 which will seal it.  And then (drum roll, please!) I can rebed the toe rails and seal up the 160 some odd holes in my deck that so effectively channel water into the bilges EVERY time it rains.

Yes, I am on the verge of making significant progress...  Come to think of it, I spend a lot of time on that very verge.  Stay tuned.  Things are about to get interesting again!
